The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) announced the official grant payment schedule for May, June, and July 2025. Incorporating these dates into a schedule becomes essential for a beneficiary’s planning with regards to finances in order to access the funds at the stipulated time.

In May in the year 2025, payment dates are as follows: Older Persons Grant falls on Friday, 2 May; a Disability Grant lands on Monday, 5 May, while Children’s Grant and all other grants happen on Tuesday, 6 May.

  • Old Age Grant from R2,185 to R2,315.
  • War Veterans Grant, from R2,205 to R2,335.
  • Disability Grant, from R2,185 to R2,315.
  • Foster Care Grant, from R1,180 to R1,250.
  • Care Dependency Grant, from R2,185 to R2,315.
  • Child Support Grant, from R530 to R560.
  • Grant-in-Aid, from R530 to R560.

The Social Relief of Distress (SRD) grant, which is currently at R370 per month, will continue to be disbursed towards the end of each month, mostly in between the 25th and 28th. ([GroupEditors][4])

Stay Informed and Prepared

It is recommended that beneficiaries confirm their personal details and banking details with SASSA to ensure the timely receipt of their grants. Beneficiaries are also encouraged to wait to get an SMS confirmation before withdrawing their funds to avoid large crowds at payment points. SASSA further reminds grant recipients that if funds are credited into their account, they remain there until needed and so there is no need for immediate withdrawal.

Beneficiaries should continue trusting official SASSA communication channels for the updated information while remaining wary of the misinformation spreading on social media.
