Three- day event kicks-off on Wednesday with focus on B2B

Bangalore:Subrahmanyan Viswanath,DHNS, Nov 9,

The scourge of recession, which cast its ominous shadow the world over, deeply impacting IT majors decisions, is yet to show signs of ebbing. Likewise, the inclement weather too, is threatening to dampen things in the Air Condition City.

Both have had a debilitating impact on the success of Bangalore’s flagship premier annual ICT event — BangaloreIT.bizin the past, which, in its 11 years of chequered existence, has lost much of its charm as must do itinerary for who’s who of IT Inc. However, Principal Secretary IT, BT & ST Ashok Kumar Manoli, told Deccan Herald that all systems are well in place and the event would see anticipated turnout on all three days. Exuding confidence Manoli said besides the B2B networking sessions for the industry players, the three day conference programme, on nine focused tracks, with over 90 leading speakers has been specially curated to make the conclave a success. He said the structured B2B sessions will see state to state, country to country and industry to industry interfaces over the three-days.

Likewise, the conferences, in keeping with the event’s focal theme of ICT For A Billion People will see experts drawn from various verticals — Telecom, Health, Education, Energy, Governance, Women, debating on not only new trends but also investment potential, jobs that they will throw up as IT penetrates and pervades these spectrums.

Product paradigm

Indian Semiconductor Association President Poornima Shenoy, speaking of the Embedded Electronics conference track said it would throw light on both the manufacturing and design perspective.

With students, being the key constituent of the BangaloreIT.biz, she said ISA would educate them on hardware design and development as equally lucurative career option than mere software services.

The session would see speakers throw light on how they as also industry can get into making products for the local/domestic market.

Empowering women in IT

Given the global recession, the session would debate on how India offers itself as the future hub for product manufacturing and products as key drivers and components of driving the IT eco-system. Similarly, Vijayalakshmi Rao of EWIT (Empowering Women in IT) told Deccan Herald that Women in IT track addresses the issue of sustainability of the women to climb up the corporate ladder.

The day long three tiered sessions would dwell upon women as transformational leaders, the support system they require and through case studies spotlight on how they can equip themselves to succeed rather than drop out mid-career, the challenges and issues they face.

Yes, with Express. Exchange. Empower.as its tagline, the 12th edition of BangaloreIT.biz which kicks off on Wednesday at Hotel Lalit Ashok, braving all weather, promises aplenty for participants of all strata. Be there.
